*** A Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) is a mental health professional who has a master’s degree in counseling but is working toward full licensure. This provisional status allows them to provide counseling services, before they have completed all the required supervised clinical hours for independent practice. The term, Associate, signifies a temporary step in the licensing process, enabling new graduates to gain experience and complete their supervised clinical hours. While doing this, they spend 2 hours each week actively participating in individual and group supervision under the direction of a seasoned and licensed supervisor who is helping to guide them and grow their skills and experience. ***
